HOPE TOWN VOLUNTEER FIRE AND RESCUE

STANDING BY FOR OUR COMMUNITY 24/7/365

HTVFR is comprised of a group of dedicated volunteers who give freely of their time to help keep our community safe and apprised of any relevant safety measures. We have two fire stations on Elbow Cay; Fire Station One is located in the settlement of Hope Town and the second station is in White Sound. Our marine vessel, Rescue One remains fueled and docked in the Hope Town Harbour. HTVFR are the first responders for all medical, fire, rescue and wellness-check calls, 24/7/365.  We hope you’ll never need to use our services, but we’re standing by in case you do.

  • BY LAND OR BY SEA

The HTVFR team does more than just fight fires, we are also first responders to all public safety, medical calls on land and on water. From gas leaks to medical transport to the mainland, we are proudly standing by to serve our community 24/7/365.

  • BECOME A MEMBER

Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at Fire Station One. Interested members are invited to attend three consecutive meetings, followed by a brief application and screening process. Non-active members are welcome to attend all meetings.

COMMUNITY AT THE CORE

Hope Town Volunteer Fire and Rescue believes that the most important safety skills you can have are knowledge and preparedness. Our involvement with Hope Town Primary School and other community organizations help to keep our families, friends and neighbors safe. From fire safety and prevention classes at the school to first aid training to our teachers, we aim to share the education and skills we have learned through our training to ensure the highest level of agency for the next generation of HTVFR and beyond. Our Facebook page is a great place to catch up on some of our past training exercises, events and clinics. Clicking the link below to get started!

We take absolutely no chances with health and safety on a remote island. Your donations help to ensure our volunteers are up to date on EMS training protocols and help to provide our community with vital safety, transportation and medical equipment. Defibrillators, oxygen tanks, stretchers and stabilizers can help save lives, and medical supplies, equipment and transportation need to be safely secured and free from exposure to moisture or salt air. The safety and well being of this tight-knit community is paramount; we know every call that comes in could be someone we call family. That care and concern extends to our visitors and their guests. Your donations help us to maintain our emergency vehicles and equipment and ensure our volunteers are trained in lifesaving techniques. Please consider donating to HTVFR and help keep our entire Hope Town community safe.
